We left our beloved state of Michigan for warmer weather. Our first stop was Indiana Dunes National Park. It was not just raining here it was trying to snow so we decided that if you have seen one dune you have seen them all. Yes, I know this is cheating but hiking in nasty weather is not my idea of a good time. So, we got our stamp at the visitor center and kept moving.

Our second stop worked out perfectly. Bryce got a photo of the Gemini Giant in Willington, IL. The Gemini Giant was once a Muffler Man Statue, they have been repurposed all over the country and are all kinds of cool things. While Bryce did that Bill got gas for the truck, and I let the dogs out to go do dog things.

Our first campground for the night was a nice community campground in Hudson, IL. We found a nice spot down by the lake. we arrived just in time to make dinner before it got dark. Dinner was supposed to be white chicken chili cooked in the truck in the crock pot all day but that did not work out. So we had tuna bacon sandwiches and cooked the white chicken chili at the campsite over night. The campsite was cool we actually camped near an eagles nest and we are pretty sure she had a baby eagle in her nest. We also heard a large owl and tons of honking from the local goose population.
