Day 4 – Missouri to Arkansas

Monday, Mar. 13,2023

Today is now onto a new adventure and heading into parts unknown. Yesturday Bryce was looking up places to mountain bike and he found a campground in Eureka Springs, Arkansas that had a 3 mile mountain bike trail called the farm. So, I said sure why not lets check it out.

But before we headed up to the camp ground we stopped and checked out Pea Ridge National Military Park. We were going to drive around but we decided the wind was extremely cold and that we were better off to keep moving.

The Farm is this crazy hippy festival camp with disc golf and mountain biking, it had two big stages and cool scultures around the property. It was a beautiful place on top of a mountain in the Ozark Mountains. We had a nice short drive day so we made camp around noon. It also had nice warm bathrooms with showers. I took an amazing hot shower, and got a nap in.

The boys tooks their bikes out for their first ride of the vacation and hit the mountain biking trail. I hung back at camp with the dogs and set up our cool kitchen set up and worked on making dinner. You don’t have to eat crap while you camp. With a little planning you can eat good meals while out on the road and not have to eat your typical camp meals while camping out.

This is what inspired my to create a cook book for camping. You don’t have to have Hot Dogs and pouch meals every night as long as you have a camp stove with a couple of burners. I am currently working on my camping cookbook, with any luck it will be done in the next couple of weeks and for sale on etsy. Check back to my site often for updates.

We got dinner cleaned up and hung out at camp. Then closed up the tent for the night knowing it was going to be a cold one and made sure the dogs both had blankets for the night.

Did we survive the night? Check in soon to find out.
