Day 3 in Natchez, MS.

Today is our Last full day in Natchez State Park, and the start of our second leg of vacation. So, today is resupply day since the color is almost empty and we are pretty much out of snacks. Today, we are going to drive through the town of Natchez and see if we can find any of the cool antebellum houses in the area and maybe go for a walk.

As we head in to find the cool old houses I come to realize that this is not going to be easy. the nice map the lady at the visitor center gave us only has some of the streets on it and is not to scale. Things get more complicated when the one house we are looking for doesn’t seem to be where it is supposed to be on the map. Things escalate quickly to turning before we hit the river. We found one of the house but it is way off the road and gated. I tried to take a picture but we were moving too fast with traffic. This is quickly becoming a lost cause.

With that said, I give up and type Walmart into the Navigation System, it quickly pops up but not before we are almost over the Mississippi River. We make a quick legal u-turn before the bridge and head back toward town and Walmart.

Walmart was uneventful other than not knowing where stuff was it took forever. My husband was a little irritated sitting out with the dogs because we took so long. Then we filled up the truck. Downloaded some movie’s onto my tablet so we could watch them in the evening up in the tent when we don’t have good phone service. Then we headed back to camp ready for the rest of our trip.

Dinner tonight I made spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic knots. It was tasty and we used up the last of the meat from the first half of the trip. I packed for about a week with the meat rock solid. it actually didn’t even start to thaw out till about day 3 since it was so cold everywhere. The three burner stove I got for the trip as been amazing it makes it easy to cook nice meals while we are traveling with a simple set of nesting camping pots and pans with lids and a kettle.
