Day 13 – Natchez Trace Parkway/Nashville Campground

Wednesday, Mar. 22, 2023

Today started out exciting it was raining when we got up and there was no sign of it letting up until like noon or later. We hung out in the tent until about 9 am and we couldn’t take it any longer so we decided to get packed up while the rain was lite. We got everything put in the truck but just as we started to get the tent folded up it started to pour. All of us were very wet when we finally got in the truck.

The last hour of the Natchez Trace Parkway did not get TimeLapsed since it rained and it was just grey and not nice. Plus we were fighting window’s fogging most of the way. Here is the one photo I took of this day it is of one of the Tennessee waterfalls that we saw. With the amount of rock in the area and the amount if rain that we got there were quite a few waterfalls to be seen along the way.

We stopped at Stone’s River National Battlefield to get the stamp. We would have done the tour but it was still raining and we were all still damp.

We decided to head to our Campground Nashville I-24 Campground which was super close to the Battlefield. We got there around 1 pm it was still raining. So we set up camp accordingly. It is a very close quarters campground, where you are right on top of your neighbor so the dogs had a rough time with all the people.

But they had laundry, which was good because we had a lot of wet stuff and a lot of laundry. I did a total of 4 loads so were would have clean laundry for the Smokey Mountains. They also had nice showers so we all took advantage of those. We also took advantage of being our last night with power on this vacation and charged everything.

I made leftover taco soup for dinner and we crashed out after watching a movie on the projector since we had power.
