Rain Moving in
Hanging around camp for our last full day of Vacation
Well we survived the night. It was a crazy intense storm that hit here and with no phone service it is hard to sleep not knowing what was coming. It started with the wind, after long discussion we decided it had to be close to 60 MPH wind gusts hit the tent. And the build up through the valley to the tent was absolutely crazy. At around 3 am is when the rain hit, with force. The Thunder was literally drowned out buy the sound of the wind and rain against the tent.
I knew it was almost over and could sleep once we could hear the thunder and just the sound of rain against the tent. The tent held up through it. I did give in and drop the front polls of the tent to lower our profile as much as possible. I thought the storm in Vicksburg was bad this was definitely worse especially with the wind.
We came out the other side in good shape compared to a lot of the other campers in the campground. I few even fled in the night. We only got a little wet at the door where the zipper is at the bottom.
We had a nice sunny warm morning. I made a Breakfast Skillet and the boys enjoyed. We went down to the campground store and got stickers and ice since we were done to water in our cooler. We took the dogs for a walk and dried out the tent so it is ready for tonight. Today is a hang around camp kind of day, working on ramping up the drive home tomorrow.
Thanks For Following us Through Our adventure. The trip home was just boring Freeway not worth writing about. I have more adventures planned for the summer. I am currently working on writing about our first summer trip.
