Mountain City, GA

Today we headed north to Black Rock Mountain State Park it is up near the Georgia and North Carolina borders. This Park is just off of US23 up a step fairly narrow pass type road. You cross the Eastern Continental Divide on the way into the park.

The Visitor Center is almost at the top of the mountain and the views from the parking lot are just amazing. It is $5.00 to Park or $50 for the parking pass for the year. The state parks down in Georgia are awesome we have been to a few now and if you are going to spend any time in Georgia and want to hike, mountain bike, fish, paddle of any other outdoor activity I definitely think it is worth getting the pass.

So after stopping at the visitor center and getting our stickers and maps of the park we headed down to the trailhead parking lot. it is not very big so if you come in the summer I would advise probably coming early.

We hiked 2 trails while we were here. The First was the Spring House Trail to the Adi-Hi Falls Trail. This is a nice short hike lots of steps especially the Adi-Hi Falls section. This Takes you down to a viewing platform a little over half way down the falls. This is the only falls hiking trail in the park that I know of. The Falls are definitely worth the walk down. After walking back up the stairs and getting to the road. We actually took the road back to the truck and on our way back we came across Cowee Overlook. The overlooks around here are just awesome views for miles.

After getting back to the truck we sat and chilled and had a snack. We decided to do the Tennessee Rock Trail it is 2.2 Miles long and honestly most of it feels like it is up hill, probably because it is. But once you get to the top it was all worth it. The views and the rock formations are all just so cool.

And, there is a great photo op with the Black Rock Mountain Peak Sign.

This is a must hike trail, and totally worth the exercise. The whole area is amazing and definitely worth coming down to check out and spend some time. If, you are enjoying my posts and want to see more subscribe to my site.
