We have had 5 to 6 inches of rain in the last two days. Like last year water moves differently down here in Georgia. Instead of just slowly rising water like in Michigan our home, it gets wild and hairy down here.

We decided to go check out the falls in the park, we have two named falls plus a water fall that is just a creek that you can normally hop skip and jump across along the Suttons Gulch Trail.

After some thought we decided to head into the park from the bottom. There is a nice parking lot and trail that takes you up into the park just outside of Trenton, GA. We decided that was the best way to get into the park and up to the water falls since the upper trails are super slippery when they are wet since there is a lot of clay around here.

The trail from the bottom on the other hand is a well maintained gravel trail. We headed into the park, you could hear the roar of the creek. The creek doesn’t normally roar so that is a new one. The trails where small streams in places, thankfully we have waterproof hiking boots. They really are a must have down here.

We picked our way up the trail as we got closer I realized that we would not be making it up to the big named water falls from here. That cut little hop across creek was a flowing river and it was over a foot deep in places and much wider then normal.

Bryce climbed up a ways to get some good photo’s of the creek falls. We love it here at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia.

The weather is finally warm enough to just be out and enjoy the park. We like walking the dogs in the big campground every day. It is a beautiful Place to be.

If you want to check it out, you can camp here but they also have yurts and cottages they rent out.
