Today on the Natchez Trace Parkway we spent a lot more time just driving. The destinations were not as interesting as the first day so there are very few photos of day two. Here is a photo of the Tennessee River after we crossed it. This is the biggest bridge along this route and my son got a nice photo of it.

We also got detoured off the route for about 30 miles. during this section we stopped at the Shiloh National Battlefield Visitor Center and also found a Popeye’s Chicken.

After we got back on the parkway we pretty much drove straight to the campground. we stayed at the Meriweather Lewis Campground. It is the last one along the parkway and it was actually fairly large. We rolled in as it started to rain, we got camp set up and decided not to worry about making dinner we just had snacks up in the tent. The rain let up for a short while so we decided to take the dogs for a hike before it got dark. This area is beautiful but it is not quite spring in Tennessee yet, everything is pretty much still brown here. As we got back from our hike the rain started back up and it rained all night.
